Sommario
When the ground shakes communities feel threatened; people are relocated in shelters, diffuse damage can be seen to the territory, the infrastructures are damaged and need to be repaired, productive buildings are unusable so the production is stopped and the revenues are affected.
It takes some times to recover after an earthquake; how long does it take?
Is there a way to quantify in monetary terms the effect of an earthquake to productive systems and infrastructures?
The present paper presents a first approach to the problem using an “engineering” approach, using simulation techniques and proposing some novel models.
