This paper deals with a computational strategy based on Finite Element non-linear analysis and limit (kinematic) analysis of a monumental religious structure. The analyses are aimed at providing useful information to design adequate seismic structural improvements. When seismic, horizontal, loads are applied to a complex aggregates of buildings, the structural behavior and the seismic response is not well-defined.
Here the structural behavior, is carried out for a church structure trough the estimate of the collapse multipliers of each characteristic portion of the structure. Particular attention is posed into the study of facade of the church.
The results herein obtained can provide useful indications on the seismic behavior and vulnerability of these important class of monumental buildings.
