Sommario

On April 6th 2009, at 3:32 a.m., an earthquake of Richter magnitude (Ml) 5.8 and moment magnitude (Mw) 6.3 struck the City of L'Aquila and the territory of its province. On the bases of the art.4 of the Decree of the Delegate Commissioner for the Reconstruction (DCD n.3/2010), some Reconstruction Plans are defined for some minor historical centers. Each Plan represents a management and planning tool of projects regarding reconstruction interventions and execution of public works. The Plans aim to obtain the upswing and the redevelopment of the area and to allow returning of the people in their houses.

Surveying and evaluating conditions of the towns before and after the earthquake, the Plans define actions to guarantee safety conditions and seismic vulnerability reduction, cost estimations, individuation of involved subjects and work plans.

The Reconstruction Plans of the municipality of Castel del Monte, Castelvecchio Calvisio, Santo Stefano di Sessanio e Villa Santa Lucia degli Abruzzi (Homogeneous area of Carapelle Baronia) are developed within the pilot projects. Thanks to the study of the buildings of the pilot area, a general methodology has been structured in specific phases. Gaining knowledge about characteristics of each town, the study is focused on its buildings and their features. The result is the definition of proper interventions according to the Reconstruction Plan.
