Sommario

In recent years, the technology of reinforcement have been greatly developed. In spite of very developed technology usually the backfill soil characterisation ins not very accurate and the behaviour of the reinforced wall is evaluated empirically of a simplified way.

Based on accurate static and dynamic characterisation (Capilleri et al. 2013) a numerical modelling of the behaviour of a prototype is performed. The wall have been build in Brazil by the technology of the Vertical Walls with Concrete Facing Panels (MacRES) developed by Maccaferri. This system is built with reinforcements (straps) characterized by a high tensile strength anchored to a vertical facing of concrete panels. The straps are inserted horizontally within the backfill during construction, with the aim of reinforcing it .

Moreover the experimental real size model, have been instrumented to measure the stress and the deformations on the straps and the deformation on the concrete facing.

The behaviour have been analysed by limit equilibrium method to check the internal and external stability of the wall, has usually made by practitioners. Also the Fem analysis by a 2D code have been performed for analysing the performed on the wall in terms on stress and strain of each structure elements steel strap and concrete panels. Future work comparison the performed predictive and the experimental result of the instrument real size model.
